| My Story I
became interested in handmade knives in my early teen years.
Growing up in the Maine woods, I never missed an issue of such
magazines as Field & Stream, and The Backwoodsman. Occasionally,
they would have contests, and most often one of the prizes would
be a handcrafted knife of some kind. This captured my interest,
and by the time I had aquired a book or two on knifemaking, I
was hooked. From there, and with the help of several knifemakers
that I had come to idolize, my skills grew.
I sold my first knife in 1988 at the age of 18, and have been
making knives as my full time occupation since 1998.
I have had my knives published in several books and magazines
over the years, to name a few..
* Blade Magazine,
*
Knives Illustrated,
*
Knifeworld, Knives 93 and 2005
*
The Art of the Knife, 2008, the coffee
table book
I make primarily high end using knives for sprotsmen and collectors,
but my true love is making art grade Bowies and Fighters. I
am always trying to learn more, and my goal in life is to some
day "sole
authorship" a custom art knife.
I know that rather it be a custom high end art knife worth
thousands of dollars, or a rugged belt knife that you'll wear
and use daily, my experience
and talent can produce a knife that you'll cherish for years
to come.
